Under 12s win 2021-22 premiership after perfect season

Our Under 12-6 side put a exclamation point on their perfect season on Friday by taking out the premiership with a convincing win over Eastfield. The win marked the team’s 12th victory for the season without a single loss.

Eastfiled won the toss and elected to bat first and got off to a good start moving to 0/16 from the first four overs. At this point the some terrific fielding turned the game in our favour with two run outs followed by a wicket to Jack which suddenly saw Eastfield in trouble at 3/21 after 8 overs. A good partnership developed to see the score move to a respectable 3/47 after 15 overs.

From here the kids took complete control as Jack and Caitlin grabbed two wickets each as Eastfield fell away to be all out for 57. Jack ended with the pick of the figures with 3/8 (3) with good support from Cailtin who finished with 2/6 (2)

The team went into bat and despite an early wicket, never really look troubled. The game finished with a boundary to Lenny as the team finished up at 3/63 from 13 overs for a comprehensive victory. Mack and Nate both reached retirement with 12 apiece while Mason and Luca also played well to each finish with 9 not out.

Jack Burrell was awarded the Player of the Match award for his 3/8 from 3 overs including 2 key wickets in two balls.
