Weekend Wrap - Week 10, 2020-21

We were hoping to get 10 games away this weekend but unfortunately our three Friday night junior sides all got washed out while our two Saturday morning teams managed to get their games in along with all of the seniors.

The under 14s had a tough battle with North Ringwood on a very slow ground making it a real grind for the bats. Both sides bowled and fielded really well with our kids getting over the line with a few overs to spare. Tom (13*) and Tyson (11*) played important roles with the bat with Tom (2/1) and Hayley (2/2) got the rewards with the ball.

Our 16s also found the going tough batting first and were rolled for 75 with Josh (13*), Bailey (13) and Oscar (10) the best of the bats. Wickets came a little too late with the ball as Kerrimuir got the win - Oscar capping off a good day with 2/8.

The 1sts had a tight tussle with North Ringwood after posting 7/166 as the Bulls took it too the last over as the boys held on for a 7-run win. Deids (40) was again solid at the top of the order, while Rob (30 from 29), Ethan (27 from 35) and Brent (24* from 24) played important knocks. Glenn (2/30) was the best with the ball along with Braeden (1/21) who proved tough to get away.

The 2s had a comprehensive win over Boronia after posting 9/193. Tom (46 from 49) get going after a slow start while Josh (31 from 44) found some touch. Moonfish (20) and Andy (28) again got the lads off to a good start. Red Shoes was the star with the ball taking 3/23 from 8, while Joel (2/29) and Moonfish (2/24) got in on the wickets as Boronia were dismissed for 132.

The 3s again couldn't quite put it all together as North Ringwood took out a comfortable win. Highlights included Reubs (3/29) and EJ (3/37) with the ball while Sammy got 35 under his belt with the stick.

The 4s also took on North Ringwood and unfortunately went down ton make it 2-all between the Lions and Bulls on the day. The boys didn't get going with the bat with Dwayne (40) playing a bit of a lone hand. With the ball the lads made them work for it but not enough runs saw them get the win with 4 overs to spare. Wickets to Ash, Pete, Noah and Riley kept hope alive.

The 5s took on the top side and put in another great effort but went down by three wickets. Steve (53*) got us off to a good start while Wrighty (24) and Tyson (23) both looked set before getting out as we finished at 8/145. The boys worked hard with the ball and were well in it until a couple of middle order bats got away. Late wickets saw us back in with a chance. Wickets were shared by all the juniors as Lachie, Tom, Noah, Ben, Tyson and Oscar all grabbed one.

Overall we came home with 3/7 this week - hopefully mother nature is kind so we can get 10 teams out there next weekend.
